We had a lovely 2-night family stay at Samroha by Niraamaya Retreats, Athirapally. The property offers absolutely stunning views, and the location is perfect — the waterfalls are within walking distance, which made the experience even more memorable. The staff was extremely cooperative, warm, and quick with service throughout our stay. A special mention to Kanha, Rahul, and Midhun for their hospitality and helpful nature. The manager was also incredibly supportive and kind — he personally helped us even at midnight when my mother-in-law needed medical assistance, something we truly appreciated as a family. One of the highlights was definitely the spa experience. However, the spa rooms are located adjacent to the activity room, so there was considerable noise from foosball and indoor games during the session. It did affect the otherwise peaceful and relaxing spa ambience, and I feel this setup could be improved. Overall, a beautiful property with excellent hospitality and an unforgettable view.

Stayed here a couple of weeks back for a night as part of a corporate invitation. Seeing the prices of the place online, I'm just relieved that I didn't have to pay out of my own pocket. I don't think this is a 5-star facility like they claim it to be. Yes, it's got a decent location, with a good view and that's about it! Rooms are okayish, all standard amenities and are clean. The facility as a whole isn't that great. It felt like spaces like pool, games area, kids play room, the central garden etc. were there just to tick boxes off a checklist. Service was sub standard, especially all the female staff, both local and from other states and that one non-native male who appeared to be some sort of person managing all the other staff. Everyone felt so condescending and like they were always whispering to each other and scheming. The other male staff in the facility, both in the restaurant and in the hotel were extremely well mannered, courteous and ready to help with whatever, whenever. The food was not at all up to the standards. Except the Kerala items, everything else felt so forced and uninspiring. What was worse was that there was lot of recycling, one dish from breakfast would reappear in a new form and name for lunch. And from lunch to dinner. Overall, this is not an ideal example of what a 5 star facility should be and certainly not at this price range. Hope the owners take note of this before it's too late. If I had paid for this experience, this wouldn't have been how I wrote this review!

I have stayed at Niraamaya Samroha Athirappilly more than 12 times, always choosing the same private pool villa — and every single visit has been truly special. The location is simply unbeatable. Surrounded by lush greenery, the resort offers breathtaking views and a peaceful ambience that instantly relaxes you. One of the things we love most is walking throughout the property — every corner feels calm, scenic, and beautifully maintained. The river flowing just outside the resort adds to the charm, and being so close to Athirappilly Falls makes the experience even more magical. We usually spend almost all our time inside the resort during each visit because it offers everything we need — privacy, comfort, and total relaxation. The private pool rooms are well-maintained, spacious, and perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway. At the same time, the resort is equally wonderful for families who want a peaceful vacation close to nature. The staff hospitality deserves a special mention — always warm, courteous, and attentive, making every stay comfortable and memorable. The food is delicious with a good variety, and the overall service quality remains consistent across visits. Highly recommended for couples and families who want a serene stay near nature with luxury and privacy. We will definitely continue coming back!

We have always been deeply impressed by Niraamaya during our past stays, and our first time at the Athirappilly property was no exception. We had a wonderful experience from start to finish! ​We booked directly through the sales team and received a big, warm welcome, along with a fantastic room upgrade and welcome amenities. The entire staff—from the front desk and room service to the F&B team—was incredibly hospitable and friendly. ​Special mentions to the amazing team: ​The GM: Personally attended to us at check-in and check-out and was constantly in touch to ensure everything was perfect. ​Jithin (Sales): Our go-to person who arranged our stays at both Kumarakom and Athirappilly. He went above and beyond to make sure we received the absolute best. ​Midhun (F&B): Extremely hospitable and catered to all our requests, even on an incredibly busy day. ​Our friends' toddler enjoyed the trip the most, making it a great spot for families. ​A tad area of improvement: The food options could be tweaked a bit, specifically the breakfast spread and the in-room dining. While the Kerala cuisine is excellent and a safe bet, the continental and pan-Asian options could use a little refinement to match the rest of the luxury experience. ​Overall, this is a highly recommended resort for a quick, refreshing getaway. We will definitely be back!

We recently enjoyed a wonderfully relaxed stay at the Niraamaya Samroha Resort, a calm and peaceful property nestled close to the forest. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a refreshing flavored cold tea, followed by a smooth, quick check-in by the polite staff who gave us a helpful tour of the property. We opted for a spacious 2nd-floor river-view room, which was exceptionally well-appointed. It featured centralized AC, ambient lighting, a cozy bed, a smart TV, and a comfortable seating area with two sofa chairs and a round table. The room was fully equipped with conveniences, including a mini-fridge with complimentary tea/coffee mixes, a kettle, a wardrobe with ironing facilities, and a small workstation with a reading lamp. The clean bathroom was completely stocked with all required amenities, including soaps, shampoo, conditioner, fresh towels, and a hair dryer. A major highlight of the room was the giant glass sliding doors leading to a private balcony with a coffee table and chairs. From here, we had a beautiful view of the river and a partial view of the Athirappilly waterfalls. Because of heavy rains the day before, the river was in full flow and the falls were massive. For the absolute best, unobstructed view of the falls, we highly recommend the restaurant's balcony or the rooftop. (A quick tip: be mindful of the monkeys on your balcony, as the resort is right by the forest!) The food and hospitality were excellent throughout our stay. After settling in, we enjoyed complimentary tea, coffee, and onion pakodas on the restaurant balcony. We also had a delicious dinner at the restaurant and enjoyed the complimentary morning breakfast, which offered a great variety of both Kerala and English dishes. While the resort offers plenty of chargeable activities and experiences—including trekking, sightseeing, jeep safaris, cooking classes, spa treatments, and premium yoga programs—they also provide complimentary access to badminton, indoor games (chess, foosball, table tennis), and a complimentary morning yoga session. We strictly wanted a laid-back experience, so we skipped the paid excursions. We tried to book a relaxing foot massage, but since it was evening, it was unfortunately only available for ladies at that time. Instead, we spent our time enjoying the large ground-floor garden by the river and taking in the incredible views. Overall, it was a completely rejuvenating experience and a fantastic stay!
