Very unethically planned. The Guest house is in an old dilapidated building with fire hazards and no safety equipment. Water shortage in the rooms. Unpleasant and complacent behavior of staff. Stinky small rooms, high price. Horrible!!

If you want to experience a nightmare in your trip to kolkata,then please stay at 'Golden palace,guest house near new market area. I stayed on 1st May till 2nd May,2016 probably for less than 24 hours and faced the worst and horrible nightmares. The rooms are full of garbage,dirty pillows and used bedsheets. Of course a great haven for breeding mosquitoes. The whole night you cannot sleep because of this mosquito menace and of course the horrifying sound of the window glasses.The washrooms are unhealthy and unhygienic. Most importantly,the behaviour of the staffs are really rude and they happen to get ready to charge you every minute.Beware of that ! A strange feeling of something fishy going on in this guest house. surely not a conducive place for the families.If the checkout time exceeds 12 pm ,then the staffs might kick you out. It was surely a bad day for me as other hotels and guest houses were sold out that day and i had no other option rather than check into this guest house located above the 4th floor in a pre independence building surrounded by potato godowns. One could certainly get a better deal in Rs 700 at other hotels. If one does not wants to convert your Kolkata trip into a pathetic nightmare then please dont ever peep into this golden palace guest house in the new market area.

Worst room ever…. Price is high and the room quality is cheap… insects Centipedes roaming in your room and bed … please never go here ….. no room cleaning facilities and specially bathroom is the worst… you will feel that you are in cage .

As a hotel you get the best service within reasonable price. the authority's gesture has been very polite. Security has been very good. Rooms are nicely decorated with attached bathroom. Neat and clean & television available in every room for your entertainment. All type of ac, non/ac, single bed, double bed are available. Good hotel after all

First of all the manager also the owner, he is very bad person. Shouts with customer. Gives a false blame and over all a worst service. Very small room with low facilities and a tiny small bath room where your self will not fit in. There is even no place to keep a towel or cloths in the wash room. Over all its was a horrible experience.
