Horrible experience ruined by dishonest staff at checkout My entire stay was ruined during checkout this morning. Early in the morning, the receptionist at the front desk behaved in a completely unacceptable way. He first asked if I had Chrome or Safari on my phone. I told him I did, but that I didn’t have internet. He then asked me to hand over my phone so he could help me connect to the Wi-Fi. Trusting him, I gave him my phone. Instead of simply connecting me to the Wi-Fi, he added the network and then opened Chrome, went straight to a hotel review page, and started giving the hotel a 5-star rating. When I noticed he was typing and became suspicious, I took my phone back and saw exactly what he was doing. When I confronted him, there was no apology. He simply said this is how they do it with every customer. I made it clear that this is not acceptable and that I would show them how reviews are actually supposed to be written. This kind of dishonest behaviour completely ruined my experience and my day. I cannot recommend this hotel after such unethical conduct from the staff.

I recently stayed at Hotel Urban Luxury, New Delhi, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. The only positive aspect of my stay was that the room and bathroom cleanliness were okay. However, everything else was below expectations. The reception behavior was completely unacceptable. They kept repeatedly asking for payment, which made the experience very uncomfortable. The check-in process was horrible and not at all smooth. The worst part was the food service. They served aloo paratha that was very thick and of poor quality — it was not good at all. The food service overall was pathetic, and despite the poor quality, they did not even provide a refund for the food charges. The location was also quite noisy, which made it difficult to relax. Overall, I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Very disappointing experience.

Extremely disappointing and uncomfortable experience — worst hotel experience of my entire journey This was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. The most concerning incident was with the male day-shift reception staff. He took my phone from me, saying he needed to take a photo of my booking details. Instead, without my permission, he went into the review/rating section and submitted a positive review himself, giving excellent ratings. I was shocked that a hotel staff member would take a guest’s phone and post a review on the guest’s behalf without consent. This is completely unacceptable and a serious violation of a guest’s privacy and trust. The male night-shift staff was also extremely unpleasant. He repeatedly insisted that we use the hotel’s vehicle whenever we wanted to go outside. When we declined and said we preferred to use Uber, he raised his voice and forcefully insisted that we use the hotel vehicle. The charges were also significantly higher compared with Uber. Guests should be free to choose their own transportation without being pressured or intimidated. There were several other issues during our stay: * There was no electricity/current for a period of time. * The bed sheets were not clean. * Even normal bottled water was charged separately, although complimentary drinking water is commonly provided in hotels. The only positive experience was the female day-shift staff member, who was polite, helpful, and genuinely nice. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience. The way the staff handled guests, particularly taking a guest’s phone and submitting a review without permission, was extremely disappointing and unacceptable.

Don’t trust the Google reviews. I was travelling from London to Dharamshala and decided to take a day’s rest in Delhi before my next journey. I arrived around 3 AM and was looking for a hotel close to IGI Airport for convenience, as I had an early morning flight the next day. I chose this hotel based on its Google reviews, which now seem misleading. When I called the receptionist, I was quoted ₹2000 for the room and ₹1200 for airport pickup and drop-off, which I agreed to. However, once I arrived, although the hotel was close to IGI Airport, it looked nothing like the photos online. The location itself felt very shady and unsafe. The room was in terrible condition. There was a strong unpleasant smell, similar to cigarette smoke. The AC unit which conveniently does not appear in any of the hotel photos was in horrible shape, with sparks coming out of it, and it eventually burned out in the middle of the night. There were also multiple power cuts throughout my stay. On top of that, there was constant noise day and night, making it impossible to rest. Even the owner, I believe, had no sense of hospitality and spoke loudly without any consideration for guests. The only positive part of the experience was when I went out for lunch and found another place called De Lemur. The staff there were polite, decent, and welcoming, which was a complete contrast to this hotel experience. I spent the entire time just waiting for my flight and finally checked out at 4 PM simply to get away from this place.

I had a very pleasant stay at the hotel urban luxury during my two-week business trip. The staff was extremely kind, welcoming, and made me feel completely at home throughout my stay. The service was always prompt, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the overall vintage ambience of the hotel added a unique charm to the experience. A special thanks to all staff , who served us breakfast so warmly every morning, and from the Manik jha , who was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Also, the gentleman with the white turban at the gate always greeted us with a cheerful “Namaste” day or night with a big smile — such a wonderful gesture that truly stood out and made our days better. I would also like to thank Anju for following up on the feedback and ensuring a great guest experience. Overall, it was a memorable stay, and I would definitely love to come back again soon. Thank you to the entire team for the wonderful hospitality!
